About the brand
Jula Bloom sells premium silk-flower bouquets and vases online, takes custom bouquet requests and works with businesses on gifting and events. Refined typography and a restrained palette carry much of the experience, so spacing and type had to be exact.
Challenge
The store moved from WooCommerce to Shopify, but an earlier developer had left a partial build that needed remediation before launch. Copy, type and layout had to follow the owner’s design exactly, and neither search traffic nor customers could get lost in the move.
Scope
- Finish and clean up the Be Yours theme across home, collections, product pages, content pages and legal pages.
- Apply the brand’s type system and button rules across the whole store.
- Prepare the move: a redirect map from the old site, gift card handling, email signup and pop-ups.
Solution
- Built a type system with eight roles (headings, body, lead, tagline and more) on the brand’s licensed web font and applied it page by page, with button colors that follow the background behind them.
- Wrote a redirect map from the WooCommerce URLs while the old site was still reachable, so old links keep working after the cutover.
- Tidied product and collection pages: one wishlist app instead of two, a share button that opens the native share sheet, a calmer filter row, and hero text that stays readable over images on every screen.
- Prepared launch details: meta descriptions, a contact page with the studio map, legal pages, a Klaviyo signup in the footer and pop-ups with sensible delays.
